X box one controller

My son Xbox one controller microphone does not work this is his second one any idea how it can be fixed.

De-synch an X-Box 360 controller?

Hi,



I recently bought a second X-Box 360 and want to use an old controller with the new X-Box 360, but not have this controller affect the old X-Box 360. I synched the old controller with the new X-Box 360 just fine, but now this controller turns on BOTH X-Box
360s, and I only want this old controller to turn on the new X-Box 360.



Is there any way that I can desynchronize this old controller, so that way it won't interact with the old X-Box 360?



I've been doing a bit of online research, but to no avail. So I turn to this community for assistance.



Anyone have an idea?

Is this a Xbox One Chat headset or Stereo headset that is acting up or is it a third party accessory? Does the controller itself work with any test headsets or is it not recognizing any headsets? Can you describe the issue that is being experienced with

Are the headphones official Xbox headsets with a large connector that looks like an USB plug, or is that a third party headset with a 3.5mm headphone jack and three rings on the connector?

If it is a 3.5mm jack headset, be aware that there are two standards for the 3.5mm jack called OMTP and CTIA. On both standards, the microphone and ground pin are reversed.

So it might be that the controller is listening on the ground pin, while the headset microphone is "talking" to the ground connection on the controller.

If the headset is a OMTP standard headset, you will need a OMTP to CTIA adapter (since the adapter simply crosses two wires, the adapter works also the other way around).

Please go into the device settings on your Xbox one and ensure that the microphone option is turned on, if it got turned off for any reason it won't allow for your son to talk with his friends. Hopefully this helps resolve the issue!

Xbox gamepads do not have a microphone in it.

 

Yes I know the controller doesn't have a microphone it's when the microphone headset is connected to the controller.

I recommend taking a look at the following troubleshooting articles:

• Connecting a compatible headset to Xbox One
• Xbox One controller and headset compatibility

If the problem persists:

• Try your Xbox One Stereo Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced.
• Try your Headset on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
  updating the first controller again.
  If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the
  Xbox Online Service Center.
