    I have a new console that was a gift Dec 2018. Has been in my room since purchased never hooked up. I got it out today hooked it up came on did the updates, started to download a game walked away. Screen turned off and would not turn back on.

    Maybe try restarting the xbox console by holding down the xbox icon on your console. If the screen works fine for anything else, than you may need to replace your xbox or get a repair.

    So are you saying you plugged your cable box into the HDMI passthrough on the One X?

    If the cable box is defaulting to a lower resolution when connected into the Xbox One X's HDMI passthrough, you should be able to adjust the display output in the cable box's settings menu.

    Xbox One X won't play 4K from Sky Q through input and output HDMI Connection

    The Sky Q box will only be able to see what it is plugged into, in your case its plugged into the Xbox One X.

    Why don't you plug the Sky Q box into the TV, let the box "discover" your LG TV, once the Sky box knows what sort of picture it can display then plug the Sky output into the Xbox One X input.
