X-Box One B button is unresponsive!

I was using my X-box one controller for many months to play games. One day I went to play games as per usual and I realized that my B button was unresponsive, basically, for the B button to work I have to press it significantly harder.

Any suggestions on how to fix this will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

X button completely unresponsive

Yes it is the X buttton on my controller. I am not having power issues. It is simply the X button that is unresponsive. My A, B, and Y button work, as does the rest of the controller. the problem is only the X button. I am out of warranty so im basically

Controller becoming unresponsive

After a few minutes my controller becomes unresponsive and will not control my X box one x.

1) rebooting the console fixes it

2) pushing the sync button on the controller then pulling the battery out then back in seems to fix it sometimes.

Anyone else having controller issues?

Firstly please try carrying out a console hard reset by pressing and holding the power button on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds and after the console has shut down remove the console from the power outlet.

It this does not help do you have an alternate Xbox One controller available to try to see if the same thing happens with that? If the second controller is working without issue then it looks like the issue may be with your controller.

 

Well actually, I use my controller not for x-box but for my PC, so the problem would probably be with the controller?

 

If you are using a Windows 10 PC you could try installing the Xbox Accessories app on your PC and then use it to temporally remap the B button to either the A, X or Y on your controller to see if responds any better as this highlight a possible controller
fault.
