x box one adapter usb problem - please help!

Hi everyone

I am a Mum of a gamer boy and no clue what I'm doing so any help is appreciated. I've bought him a headset for his Xbox one - then realised it needs an adapter. Bought the adapter and it's done the expected thing of 'this needs updating'.

I follow the instructions, remove the batteries, hard wire it, plug in the adapter and jack and it asks me to update it. I click update and it says:

"there's no controller connected using USB. Make sure that the USB cable is firmly attached and try again"

No matter what I do (full reset, batteries in / out etc.) it isnt having it. It must recognise there is a usb plugged in or the handset would have no power??? PLease help. Losing will to live!

i wanted to buy x box one console and x box i got x box one s console and with this i bought kinect sensor but to my shock i was not able to setup kinect sensor with x box one s because i was not having an adapter .....i paid so much money already for console
controller kinect now im asked to buy an adapter ....pls microsoft i want an adapter for free i bought whole x box one s from yanbu saudi arabia (jarir book store) pls help me get an adapter for free !!

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

I have the same problem. x box one has hdmi. my standard def tv has 3 wire rca. is there a cable or adapter to connect these?

I have reset everything multiple times and still have this error code.. I have 2 X box ones in my home I have hard reset both. My other X box one is fine and works with no problems. I only have started to have this problem after the update. Please help

Please go to the device manager and try to update the driver, if this doesn't solve the situation delete the driver and restart the Pc

Could be also a problem with the USB port, you could try a different one, some users have solved this by using a USB cable adapter to extend the distance between the PC and the adapter
