X box movie rentals

I had the same problem, rented a movie "a dog's journey" on 08/25/19, it played for about 30 minutes then errored out, went to another xbox in the house it played for about 15 minutes then threw another error.

I requested a refund, which Microsoft said no to.

I rented the same movie on VUDU so I could actually watch the movie.

So I paid for the movie twice, one that wont play on Microsoft's movie app and one that I was actually able to watch.

I have learned my lesson Microsoft, since you will not refund the money to me for a problem on your side and you dont even acknowledge the problem, I will only rent movies from Vudu.

A very poor customer support system.

Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support. I'm sorry to hear about your Xbox movie rental not working.

It's definitely a known issue like mentioned above, and they're looking to get it resolved as soon as possible.

Go ahead and perform a hard reset and
power cycle of your console. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and turn on the Xbox.

XBOX LIVE SERVICE STATUS (click on the NOTIFY ME option to let you know once the issue has been resolved)

As far as an extension on your movie, it's best to wait until the service alert is over and then contact phone support.
