X Box Live Membership Limitation Does not Allow You to Access This Feature

I've been playing Madden 16 for weeks in franchise mode. I played it earlier today as usual, and then I turned off my console. A few hours later when I attempted to play again, I got the message that "X Box Live membership limitation does not allow you to
access this feature." My X Box Live membership is active and current, and I have no parental controls enabled. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ive played madden online before. Now im getting this message

 

Same happened to me. I updated my payment info (even though my subscription was current) and I rebooted Madden to download a 'tuning update' and it worked.
