X Box Live membersghip

Hi, my son has Xbox live membership and this doesn't expire until November, and this shows on my mirosoft family. His Xbox is telling him he can't use Fortnite as he doesn't have Xbox live membership. We recently cancelled the game pass which he'd tried
on a cheap trial, so not sure if this is causing the problem?

Can anyone help please?

To clarify a little further, if he bought the $1 promotion it was for Game Pass Ultimate, not just Game Pass. Game Pass Ultimate includes Gold and Game Pass so if you already have a subscription for those when you purchase Ultimate, the remaining subscription
you have is cancelled and upgraded to Ultimate as well (meaning he would have had Game Pass Ultimate through December). By cancelling Game Pass Ultimate, it would have also cancelled his Gold.

it states when signing up to the gamepass ultimate that any current gold time would be converted to ultimate, as you have cancelled it cancelled the lot, you would need to call support who should be able to help you out with this.
