Won't register gold membership

I just renewed my X-box live gold membership, an hour ago. On this website it says that i have a gold membership, but when i turn on my xbox it just says that i have X-box live free. Why does it take so long time. It's like it don't want to register my buy!

Usually depends on the situation.

For example if it was a Prepaid Xbox LIVE Gold Membership you will not get a refund for that, you will probably just get a membership token back and your account cancelled to use another time when you wish to return to Xbox LIVE.

If it was paid with through a Credit or Debit Card. You should call them up on the phone.

For United Kingdom

Please follow the phone options for Billing. And state the reason why you wish to cancel your Xbox LIVE Membership, if it was auto-renewed because you forgot to turn auto renewal off for example. If that's the case tell them you forgot to turn auto renewal
off and that you didn't want it to renew this month, and it's only been used for a day. They might be able to cancel your account and process a refund to your card.

If you have no luck with that your other option could be going to support chat:

Contact Us | Xbox Support

Have them escalate a case for a possible membership cancellation and a refund applied to your card.

just to add, when Xbox Live is supported in a country in most if not all cases there is a local Xbox Support team, which you can call or contact, so there is no need to call internationally.

If your account region matches your physical location you can use this link to get the Phone number for Xbox Support:

Only Xbox Support is able to immediately cancel a subscription and are the only ones able to determine if a refund is possible or not.
