    So it seems someone from xbox live gold needs to re-set the subscription. When I understand it well, I can not do this myself.

    In that case I need to wait till the chat function opens.

    Good to hear that it is working again.

    And yes, kids without a proper working console can be quite hard to handle (that's my own experience X-box Gold subscription is not working anymore, although I paid for it :) )

  3. Hi i bought my son a 12 month gold pass for his xbox one and its expired and it still should have a least 6 months left before it runs out hes upset as he cant play his game

    Hi,

    have you tried to do a power cycle ?

    A power cycle often solves a wide variety of issues.

    More information about performing a power cycle can be found here: Restart or Power Cycle Xbox One Console

    if a power cycle doesn't work than you can start a chat conversation with xbox support (you can also call support but chat is more convenient)

    Assuming you have tried various things such as restarting, delete and download game again etc, then use the online chat facility. They probably need to reset it.

    Don't ask me now, but I was ready to contact the chat function - and now it is working again! We did not do anything between yesterday and this moment. So it seems there was something going on in the backoffice of Xbox Live Gold.

    Anyway: it is working, and the kids are happy with it!

    I read that more people have difficulty to contact the helpdesk. Herewith below the link for the (Dutch) helpdesk):
