X Box does not connect to WiFi

Hi there, I bought a new XBox for our Family. Though the WiFi works good ind the phone and the computer, the X Box does not connect to it. I tried several times also rebooted the modem and router. no success any suggestions?

can not connect x box to Wifi

if your network security is WPA try changing it to WEP and it should work.

Sorry to hear it. If the console was connected to wifi when you set it up then try a power cycle. You can power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down.

If you are trying to do the set up on the console and it will not connect to wifi try using an ethernet cable. If that does not work then you may need to return the console for an exchange.

Use a wired connection for the highest quality internet connection. Over Wi-Fi speed is not stable and intermittent outages.

Tried connecting to wifi by wired connection it works but x box still wont connect wireless. Really need it wireless as dont have enough cable cant keep the x box in the hallway. Any other suggestions??

Hi EnterableTwo99,I have the same problem.But here is some suggestions to help your with success

1)If you are using Comcast, type in the search bar "10.0.0.1"

2)When you get to the log in screen type in for the (username) "admin"and for the (password) "password"

3)Then goto Gateway,Then Connection,And goto WiFi,

4) Then Enable (WiFi Protected Setup or aka WPS) this will enable the router real ability to connect to the xbox

5)Next goto the right side of the page and click the
edit button.

6) Now,this is going to be your WiFi's Password (I recommend using the given password by comcast it is usually on the router or modem.

7)After your done click save settings and Happy Gaming
