X-box billing is freaking dumb

So had paypal set up on my account and had my x-box using it as an auto pay source. I fell on hard times and didn't have the funds to pay for services, ok so i lost my x-box live gold. no biggie i thought ill just go in and resubmit for billing I had enough
to pay for a single month 9.99 at least until i can get paid next week and get the 79.99 yearly membership set up. Well It turns out instead of simply turning off my services for non payment like any Pay to play auto recurring charge account they charged me
for a second month. and now say I have to pay up 2 months of service. Section 6.4 under auto payment in the ToC do not state how they will handle declined payment. and the rep on the phone says i cant use a subscription card on my account until the 2 months
of payment have been paid in full. so basically ill have to pay 29.97 +tax for 1 30day use of service. which would be fine except that when i checked my account here on the xbox live webpage there was no notice of failure to pay or past due charges. they said
it was in an e-mail that was sent to you. i was like ok im confused, he said why. I asked why is this information on my account, his replay was I dont know thats microsofts rule. Im like any account that has a payment attached has an option to view this, WoW,
Play ON line, your back account, cell phone bill all have options to view if your payment was good, but MS does not. and they only send an e-mail. what happens if your busy and over look that e-mail and like me logged in to make sure everything was ok about
a week ago and i see what looks like to be no issues. I mean really WHY I could have taken care of this the last time i got paid. if i had known there was an issue when i looked at my account.

Dear Xbox Live

I've noticed something to day after paying for x-box live for months and then not using the services x-box or Microsoft have[Mod Removed] then i contact your services support they said nothing can do only disabled you should less come out
system with system and noticed that customers not using as pretty much you screw someone for month of services if not using it then should have it auto refunded back too them would you pay for using if not using it nope so why should i after loses out on the
payments.

 

Auto renew turns on each time you resubscribe.

You are told when subscribing the next payment due date, its up to you to cancel that if you don`t want it.

 

This is why I've never given any account info to MS or signed up for auto anything. I always buy a card and then redeem it.
