X-Box 360 wired Controller Win 10 - Dies after a while

I have a wired X-Box controller which I use on Win 10 with latest drivers. For about 2 months it was fine, but for 2 days now it dies after 5-30 minute use (tried different games). If it isnt used - it doesn't happen. By "dies" I mean that it will lock any
pressed button (so for example it will assume X is pressed constantly if it was pressed at the time), stop responding and often (not always) start vibrating. There is a USB disconnect sound. The light on the X-Box buttom stays on. It disappears from Device
Manager. If I replug it to the USB port or replug it into a different port - it is not recognized and there is not light on it. Reboot helps every time, but that is no solution.

I tried reinstalling the drivers. What else can I give a go?

Xbox 360 wired controller on Windows 10

I was wondering if my old wired 360 controller is compatible with playing Xbox One games on Windows 10? I don't have 10 yet but was curious if I'd have to go buy a wired XBO controller should I choose to update my OS from Win
7 to 10.

Oddly enough, I have tried using my wired 360 controller on my XBO but that obviously didn't work. I suppose that's why I'm asking this.

De-synch an X-Box 360 controller?

Hi,

I recently bought a second X-Box 360 and want to use an old controller with the new X-Box 360, but not have this controller affect the old X-Box 360. I synched the old controller with the new X-Box 360 just fine, but now this controller turns on BOTH X-Box
360s, and I only want this old controller to turn on the new X-Box 360.

Is there any way that I can desynchronize this old controller, so that way it won't interact with the old X-Box 360?

I've been doing a bit of online research, but to no avail. So I turn to this community for assistance.

Anyone have an idea?

On a related note - I can't get my Win10 computer to take input from my wired controller. It sees it is plugged in and makes a 'ding' connecting noise when I turn it on, but then the controller just sits there flashing the central button. Maybe a related
issue?

I fixed my issue. The problem was with Plantronics Gamecom 788 headset drivers installed in Win7 version whereas I use Win10.

Reinstalling those drivers correctly fixed my issue.

Hi,

Both wired and wireless Xbox 360 controllers work on Windows 10. Wired is just plug and play while wireless controllers need a receiver. I know 360 controllers work as I've used them on my own gaming PC running the latest version of Win 10.

PowerA JUST released a competitor to the Elite Controller called the FUSION Pro. It is half the price of the Elite Controller, doesn't look as "cool" and it is Wired.

I would seriously stop playing video games if they went back to wired controllers. It's also part of the reason I prefer X Box controllers over the PS4; if the battery dies on the PS4 controller when I'm playing, it gets turned off even in the middle of
a game. I never, ever, ever, want to play using a wired controller. -_- Lol.
