Your counter arguments are not valid because the Kinect that comes with the Xbox One is NOT an accessory. Taking away the Kinect from the Xbox One is like removing the arms of a human being. The person will still live but the way he/she accesses the
worlds becomes limited. Microsoft has offered consumers a product and if you don't like a core feature that is YOUR PROBLEM. If companies were to change every single feature in their products to meet the vocal minorities needs, innovation and change would
never happen. if you don't want to pay $500 for the Xbox One with Kinect, simply wait a few months/years for a price drop. Until then, you will simply have to deal with it.

Removing arms and legs? Not even close. Console is better controled with kinect and easier perhaps so long as it works. But controller has been doing it's job just great so far and seems to promise to keep up with the same exelent work in x1. This might
be my problem. But no one has yet taken away anyone's right to complain about something. We can't have the forum populated with just Yes men who would never offer any negative opinion on the product.

And lets face facts. Both sides are vocal minorities. The none so vocal majority is your ordinaly consumer who doesn't frequent this forums.

Inovation and change has never happened by being forced on people despite their negative outlook. Whats more it never happens over night. Inovation and progress come slowly letting people adapt to the changes.

 

Xbox 720/Next Can Microsoft Win Back their Fans?

Microsoft has their work cut out for them. With a growing majority of multi-platform owners asking questions as to the value of their service; the floating rumors on the internetz; the apparent fact that Microsoft seems to be pursuing gimmicky peripherals;
the bad PR they have received through out the years; the fact that both systems are so close in design meaning more multi-platform games; and the fact that they are making it a pay to use APPBOX means they may ave to do a lot of back-pedaling and leg work.

I for one would love to see them become consumer focus friendly. I liked my 360 and i would like its value to return id like the NexTbox to be a contender and give me a reason to come back to XBL.

IF the rumors are true--Sonys were like 80% true-- they've got to back pedal that means no mandatory internet connection because lets face it not all ISPs are equal and everywhere and good speeds are still cost prohibitive in many places; coupled with the
need for gold to do anything and Microsoft can kiss some customers goodbye. If kinect is necessary to function it either needs to be better then the rumored specs and bring... At this point .... Its AAA+ game to the table and definitely not be an added accessory
or it needs to become optional really quickly before people realize they'd be buying a half broken console. If the casual xbox model exists ... Well it just shouldn't its a cash grab and a waste of production materials and resources that could be better
spent advertising and shoring up production quality on the main platform as well as helping to deliver more units quickly to drive an install base . I like what they did with their coat cutting ideas to bring xbox to 99$. ... While if you do the math its
financial in their favor it does allow them to bring the cost down and drive n install base especially for people who cant afford a huge lump sum but can afford the monthly.

Blocking used ames through the console is just a bad idea its nothing more then a the larger publishers,not the developers, to obtain more money--thats allowed they are a business-- but it seems to be a stealthier step to a more sinister idea-- these games
are not yours, you just pay us to access the content-- at our discretion-- you hold no end user rights as its not software but a service we are providing you the consumer is not the end user but in fact it is Microsoft--which has stated on numerous occasions
xbox is a service not a device. This has many other implications in the evolving digital distribution world also,DLC, MICRO-TRANSACTIONS,PAY TO PLAY, Pay to use, pay to win, the list goes on.

I could go on but i feel thats a good enough start ... Discuss.
