Wrong tenure showing up.

I noticed my tenure is wrong on both my Xbox 360 and Xbox One. I have gold on this account since at least 1-11-2009 probably even longer without any gaps in my gold account but my tenure only shows up as 4 years.

Well see that must be wrong because it said 4 years, now it says 3 but your saying its 2?

Hey there Linux,

We double checked your tenure and it should just be showing 2 full years of tenure.

For more information on how tenure is calculated, please refer to our Tenure Sticky.

Tenure is based on the cumulative amount of Xbox LIVE Gold time a user has. While you do not lose tenure when you go Silver, Xbox LIVE Silver time does not accrue tenure. You will see your tenure increase only when the year of Xbox LIVE Gold time has finished.

For your first year of Xbox LIVE Gold you will see a '0' and increase to '1' year of tenure when that year is up! For example, if you've had Xbox LIVE Gold for 3 years and 6 months, you'll see a tenure of '3' next to your Gamertag.

When you created your account in 2009, or longer as you mentioned was it subscribed to gold from the get-go, or was it silver for the first few months?

To get an accurate overview of your account creation date or any silver to gold during the time period, please contact customer support by chat, they will be able to load up your account for a much better insight on what is going on.

Yes this account has had gold in 2009 as I already said. I have already contacted online support chat and was told to try and get help here.

Yes I read what you said, but we can only give advice to an extent, we cannot look into accounts, nor have the power to make any adjustments to accounts, as far as I know they cannot adjust accounts in tier 1 either. I will again suggest you get back on
to them and ask them for as much information as you can about your account, when it was created, and if there was any intervals where it was not on gold. There is not a lot any community member can do to help you on this one as they just do not have any tool
to look into accounts. I apologise for this not being the answer you wanted, maybe someone else will post on this with an idea.

Hi Linux,

The reason for this is that the way that we calculate tenure has changed. It used to be that you accrued tenure for all of your time on LIVE but now tenure is calculated using the time that you are a Gold member. This also does not include free trial Gold memberships.

One year of tenure is 365 of Gold. It does not have to be consecutive and you don't lost tenure by going silver, but you have to accumulate a total of 365 days total. For instance if I got a Gold membership today, on 8/24/2014 I would have a tenure of 0. On
8/25/2013, I would have a tenure of 1.
