    a code came to my Xbox One console today for 5$ USD, however im in Turkey and cannot use this code or redeem it to my account. I would also ask what steps do I need to take to have the code replaced

    Hello, a hour ago i buy the game as a gift for my sister.

    I live with sister in same region but she can't activate gift code.

    We see error like a this code can't be activated in your region!!!! WTF....

    My friend has bought a game from US region and sent it to me as a gift but unfortunately i can’t redeem the gift code and it keeps telling me (Contact the seller to get a code that works in your region / This code was purchased in a different region and
    cannot be redeemed.) although i tried using the same US region, BTW I've tried all this throw the console but with no success

    Can they try redeeming the code on there account here https://redeem.microsoft.com/enter

    If that fails what is the error they are getting, if its for the wrong region, Gifting is not supported cross region, and you will need to process a refund for this.

    Some codes are made to work in any region (that's what a worldwide code would be), but others are region locked. Since you live in a region that is not supported, there's no guarantee the codes will work in your region and if you do manage to redeem a gift code, you may still have issues purchasing content since your account region won't match your physical location or the region of the gift card.

    Gifting through Xbox is also region locked. So if you were able to complete a purchase and you gift your friend, it wouldn't work for them because they wouldn't be in the same region as you. It would be better to purchase gifts for your friend through a different retailer where you can get a code that would work in their region.

    Gifting is region locked. So yes, if you are not in the same region as the person who gifted you the code, it will not work.

    Gifting is region locked. If they want to send you a gift, they would have to find a place that sells codes for your region.
