Wrong region error starting a game.

Hello

Yesterday I purchased a Burnout Paradise for Xbox 360 from the xbox.com store. The surprise was that after downloading it, the persistent Wrong Region error appeared claiming that "This disc's region code is incorrect for this console" when I'm trying to
launch the game. My console was from the USA originally, but I have changed the locale and Xbox Live subscription to Spain and haven't experienced issues like this neither with DVD's (both PAL and NTSC) nor with downloads (Games with Gold and such). I've tried
to delete the system cache and download the game again, but it still won't start. All my billing options and console and xbox live are set to Spain.

well thats conflicting information

PAL games will not work in a NTSC xbox the xbox will not recognize them however there are some neutral games

however region free games will

theway you tell is the back of the console and the back of the case of the game

it will state Which regions it supports

US consoles will only play region free or region 1 games

if the game case says region 2 or any other region then its not a region 1 game or region free



your best bet buy stuff from your actual region including hardware and games



and no there is no way to make an xbox console region free

my friend lives across the street and it works for my neighbor maybe it has some thing to do with PAL

 

Do you live in Spain? If so, this could be the issue.

Some content is region locked and cannot be properly downloaded to regions that they were not originally intended for.

 

Hello. Yes I live in Spain, but I still don't understand the issue, since this digital copy was bought from the Spanish Xbox site. In my opinion, this case of region lock has something to do with the physical region flag which is built in somehow. The most
interesting thing is that this console is able to run all types of games (phiysical or not) regardless of it's region. Also since there is not any solution on sight I should elevate this case to customer support and ask for a refund,

 

The issue is you have an NTSC console and it seems like Burnout Paradise is PAL-restricted. Games On Demand on the Xbox 360 are slightly inconsistent as to which will work on a different-region console, so some (particularly "bigger" games like AAAs) will
be region-restricted and you won't be able to download a game in Spain to an NTSC console, whereas with others (particularly Arcade games) you won't notice this, hence why some games will have worked and this one didn't.

The general rule of thumb to follow is to have a console that matches the regions of the discs and downloads you have, which ensures everything will work without issue, but some games will be able to pass through that filter.

You can try contacting Support for a refund because I don't think you'll ever be able to get this game to download to, or run on, your current console - a PAL console would be required.
