wrong region error code 0x80a40401

Microsoft, please give us a proper answer, are you going to fix it or not?

I live in Syria, I had no problems whatsoever with signing in before, just 2 months ago this issue comes up.

Again living in this region "Syria " doesn't mean that we are no human beings...

 

Ummm already mentiomed the truth

Iran is under embargo from the us

Take it up with your government

 

Umm syria isnt a xbox live country

And also under embargo and sanctions from the UN

Therefore illegal for any gaming company to do business with syria

If you used another region its at your own risk

If you try ro change to syria you cant

 

Sony has limited regions too far fewer then xbox and you have ro also have a billing method from that region

Unlwss you bought an prepaid card whoch even nintendo or sony or ms can let you do

So I donno what your issue is then

Embargoed countries cannot be serviced regardless of country as it carries massive fines and jailtime

If you choose to get a prepaid card you are on your own

Npt.all servicea will be available to you

 

The problem is not related to exporting or importing a product. We can not access or login to our profile any more.

 

Please stop post [Mod Removed – Profanity]. I can't even read this anymore. Its not only xbox live issue. We just can't login to our accounts. PSN and Nintendo services doesn't support in all countries, right. But u can login
and play games what u already own... And why MS continue ship consoles to "banned" regions. U can buy xbox console in random shop in every "not supported" region, but u can't even create or login to u acc...

 

Importing a game system is completely different from playing online from a non supported region

Common use common sense

If you have.an issue with playing banned content in your country take.it.up with your local dealer

With all consoles.you can play your consoles anywhere but.services.arent available in non supported regions regardless of console

So online wouldnt.be available

Even xbox can be played without xbox live you just.need to be connected.to the internet just like every console.out there

You cant sign up for service.unless you live.in a supported.region this has been explained to you HOW.MANY TIMES ALREADY? By support and many other posters

HENCE the error you are receiving

If you read the terms of use which you really should you cant play from embargoed countries

Also selecting non supported.regions justs means you csnt play online from non supported countries

It doesnt mean you cant sign into your console

Hence the services warning

You can always select another region but you take your chances

Regardless of console

If you try an sign up from a embargoed country and pretend to be in a supported country

Regardless of which console if you are caught you will grt suspended

Same issue here in Sudan, we understand sanctions rules, but not being able to sign in to play games we purchased before or use apps simply we can't understand. For an Xbox 360 and Xbox one owner with GOLD membership, I am throwing both devices in the trash
and switching all the way to playstation.

Hi all,

I have had the same issue. I then contacted microsoft and chatted to a person who solved my problem as follows:

1. Soft reset your Xbox: Turn it off, unplug from power for 5 minutes

2. Soft reset your modem-router: Turn it off and wait for 5 minutes

3. Turn on your Xbox and set your primary DNS as 100.10.24.204 and your secondary DNS as 100.10.24.200

4. Turn on your modem-router and connect to it.

That's it!!

My current issue is that the DNS servers are now invalid and don't work... I need new ones!

No the amount of tegions supported is the same as xbox axcross most consoles

If you are in an embargoed country you cant receivr services

Any busimess not operating with a license in a country can be FINED or Jailed in any country they arent allowed to operate even sony

So I donno wre you get your figure of 99.9% since sony only owns 60% of the market with the rest xbox and nintendo owning sizable marketshare
