Wrong Region Code error

Pretty much had a bum deal from Microsoft today, for what is the very first problem with my Xbox that needed solving. Really poor service.

My son bought Disney's Infinity 3.0 starter pack last week from a local shop. It's a PAL / European version but the Xbox says it's the "wrong region code". We're based in the UK and the other games we play are UK region / PAL too.

I went on to the virtual chat Microsoft site and wrote to them all that they needed to know. Then ended up waiting for a call and the caller from Microsoft simply told me to go to play-asia.com TO FIND OUT THE SOLUTION!!! Needless to say, I got completely
lost and there's no support on that web site that could tell me what the solution is.

Terrible service. Who can help me outside the awful world of Microsoft.

Easy which country do you live.in

There is only a couple.countries that are

For.obvious reasons

just to be sure, the console itself is a UK region console ?

Since if a game and console aren't from the same region and the Game is regionally locked (which this games seems to be) then there will be no way to get it working on a console not from that region.

If the regions do not match then I suggest trying to see if you can return the game to the store.

Ok does your account region match your physical location?I

Also are you buying codes from the same as your physical region

And we need the specific error numbers and what it says

Is it a region error or this is not valid code

If ms points are region locked if you created an account in a region that you do not live in and buy

The wrong region codes like buying us dlc or ms points when you are tryIjg to redeem on a uk account it will come back as invalid

We need the specific error code

What error message/code do you receive when you try redeeming the codes? What region is your account set for and what region are you physically located in? Region issues are the most common reasons those codes won't work.

The error message is:

"Something went wrong

Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate."

The error code is: "XBOS-4000"

My account and physical regions are: Romania

Can they try redeeming the code on there account here https://redeem.microsoft.com/enter

If that fails what is the error they are getting, if its for the wrong region, Gifting is not supported cross region, and you will need to process a refund for this.

You can you just cant do it via yoir xbox

If you arwnt in a supported region You cannot access video music or online services regardless of region

Ms may not export to non supported regions or embargoed as the support person mentioned

If you got it feom a NON OFFICAL store you have to take the import with them

Though really not sure what you going ro do since if you are in a non xbox live region

Servicea are ip based

We cannot tell you how to get service in non supported eregions

You can google it on your own and take the risk keep in MIND subscription codea are region specific

And video and music and somw games DO check for geoip so some services may not be available

Thats the risk you take

If you are in an embargoed region

You run the risk of having an expensive door stop regardless of console playatation nintendo or xbox

As they do ban for accessing from.embargowd regions
