Wrong Minecraft account when logging in on a new computer

Hey Josef, hope you are doing great too.



When I say "the Minecraft account itself is wrong", I'm specifically talking about the Minecraft name (the one I see on the right side of the "PLAY" button).



When I go into "View all accounts", I also see it's slightly changed - almost as if the wrong Minecraft user is linked to my Microsoft profile.



I'm trying to play Java through the Minecraft Launcher.



I do have the confirmation email that my Mojang account was successfully migrated to a Microsoft account. That email also states the correct minecraft name.

Hope you're doing great today Soren, please let's try this first on your PC:

First uninstall actual minecraft launcher.

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too.

Now, sign out from your account on both Xbox app and Microsoft Store and do this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

Finally do this:

Step 1: Open the Run window by pressing Windows + R key.

Step 2: Input WSReset.exe in the Run window and click OK.

Step 3: Then a command prompt window will appear. After a few seconds, Windows Store will open.

Sign in again on both Microsoft store and Xbox app with the account that owns the game and install minecraft launcher

If that doesn't work, let's try downloading and installing the Launcher marked as Windows 7/8 from this page - https://minecraft.net/download

After that try sign in with the account that owns the game and see if that makes the trick

That's odd, what do you mean by "the Minecraft account itself is wrong"?
Demo version only appears?

And... What minecraft edition are you trying to play, Bedrock or Java?

Do you have the confirmation email about migration process on the Microsoft account that you used to migrate?

I logged off the minecraft account, restarted computer and opened minecraft, and logged on server, still doesn't work

I got on my ps4 today and Minecraft started to update. I let it do its thing, and when I tried logging in to my Microsoft account through the button that says "log in for free!" I logged in to my microsoft on my computer and I pressed the button
again and this pops up on my PS4: "Failed to login" "We tried to sign you in to your Microsoft Account, but somthing went wrong." I don't know what's wrong but if someone could help me that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
