Wrong language on a backward compatible title (Star Wars III : ROTS)

Hi, I have a problem with my physical copy of Star Wars 3. The game is backward compatible with the Serie X of course, so I bought it because I loved it back in the days on the PS2. But despite the disc being the french version (with disclaimers and the movie title being in french), the game is entirely in english (both text and audio, in the french version the movie scenes remained in english but the ingame dialogues were dubbed in french). No language setting is accessible in game (or I don't know where it can be besides the settings menu), and I don't see any language dlc (like in some recent games) on the Microsoft Store. My console is set in french of course.

I don't have this issue with other games, even Battlefront 2 (yes I love Star Wars) is available in French, both text and audio.

I know I'm asking this on an english forum so many may not have any issue like this, but does anyone know how to fix this please? The game is still playable and all, but the french dub si iconic to me and many french fans of Star Wars.

It seems that I can't do much to solve the riddle, I've talked about this issue on french forums and someone confirmed that other people had games in german or english but not available in french (though he did not mention precise games). Looks like it is a problem shared by other games and countries, and without any kind of patch from Microsoft or the developpers it won't go anywhere.

Anyway, thank you for trying to help me in this case. I can imagine it's tricky to find a solution to a problem about a 15 years old game, I can just hope that Microsoft listens to European communities and brings back languages for games that were included in the original releases.

I think it is not the disc but rather... the game itself that has a problem.
I know that this subject would be taboo here, but while emulating the game on PCSX2 it always launches in english despite using European ISO (with all languages on it) and an emulator configured in PAL region/french.

I have no access to my actual PS2 and PS2 copy of the game right now, but I don't remember it having any trouble with it regarding the language. Maybe the game doesn't get the console's language outside of the original hardware, even when it is officially backward compatible... I don't really know honestly, I wish more non-english players may confirm if they have similar problems with this game.

Edit: I also noticed that the Store's page for the game indicates both english and japanese languages for texts/subtitles/audio, the third and only other language mentionned being French for text only... but even with that explaination, my game is entirely in english so I definitly think this is not normal.

If your console region is set to France or any other French speaking country and your device language is set to French as well, then I'm lead to believe the issue is with the disc itself. Since it is a French disc, it should play in French even if your console was set to English.
