    Wrong gift card currency


    A friend in America bought me a 10 USD gift card and send me the code. I redeemed it just fine, and my account has been credited 10 USD. Unfortunately I'm in the UK and I can't use the balance to pay for anything, as it is listed as a separate balance
    on my profile. Any way around this?

    Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with redeeming the gift card on the wrong account.

    What type of gift card was it? (Currency/Subscription)

    Unfortunately, if the gift card is for Microsoft Currency you will not be able to transfer or refund. The funds will get attached to the account it was redeemed on.

    If they were from the Microsoft Rewards program, you would need to wait for their response. The Xbox Rewards program is not the same so Xbox Rewards support will not be able to assist.

    This forum is for Xbox Live Rewards issues. The Microsoft Rewards program is a separate program, so we are not fully informed on their issues. You should try contacting their support team via the Microsoft Rewards website.

    Sorry to here about this. You can contact Xbox Support and provide them the code of the card and they can deposit the amount to your account correctly. I would
    also make sure you inform them so that they can help you with this. And from my research I don’t believe you can change regions with gift cards.

    There is xbox live game pass gift cards same with xbox live gold gift cards. Currency gift cards can't really play for subscription payments.
