Also, you would only receive a forced gamertag change if the tag violates the code of conduct. Since yours doesn't, the enforcement team wouldn't issue a change anyway.

Are you using the E-Mail address associated with your Xbox account? If not, that is the reason for the new account.

Means the email you used when creating the profile is different, or when you create it it was misspelled. In your console go to SETTINGS--ACCOUNT--ACCOUNT SECURITY . Try to check the email that will be listed there and compare letter by letter, once you
confirm the one showing on the account, sign in with that email, it does not matters if maybe the email is 1 or 2 letters short than the one you intended to add at the time of the creation, if the email is on the xbox account then it exists for Microsoft.
The password, will be the same one you entered when you created the account so no problem with that....

I made a typo and can't even revert it back because it costs money to change?
[Mod Removed - Inappropriate] I doubt that its not possible to just rewind it. There should be an option to revert it back within 15 minutes if you made a typo or something like that. Really unsatisfying "solution".
