Wrong gamertag loads for son's Minecraft account

It is the version on his Android tablet.

Thank you for your response. If not done so already, I would recommend also contacting Mojang Support directly. If you have recently migrated your Mojang accounts with a Microsoft account, it's possible that this is what's causing the error. Mojang should be able to pinpoint if this is an account error or something on the Microsoft account end.

Please open a ticket with Mojang at Mojang Support - Submit a Request

Additionally, if you have noticed that this began after a recent migration, you may view Microsoft Account Migration Issues and FAQ for potential solutions to the error you are receiving.

Recently, Microsoft started to integrate Minecraft Java accounts with Microsoft accounts. Could you have merged the wrong account at some point or signed in with the wrong account?

I have this same issue. I have added my sons account to mine using the family group. I can see his gamertag, but it won't let me select it. The gamertag is a very old minecraft account login, I'm not sure whether this is causing the issue?
