Wrong device plugged in IR out 3.5 output

I have an extreme ridiculous but paranoid question.

Got a new Xbox One S a few days ago and today I tried to plug my sound system by using a dual RCA plug (plugged to the audio device) and 3.5 jack (into the Xbox) without even ever reading this is intended for the Infra Red cable. Nothing happened, of course,
but the Xbox did emit signal to the sound console and this to the speakers and just played noise. I am possitive the answe is "no, nothing wrong happens" but is there a chance to damage somehow the function of this output by plugging in another kind of device
but which is intended, in this case, a sound system console?

Thanks. Yes is a dumb question, but was wondering. And is highly unlikely I will ever get to use that IR port actually, but still...

    :)

Using Xbox One IR Output Does the Kinect IR Blaster Still Work

I have some compenents in a cabinet and I was going to get an IR cable to plug into the output on the Xbox One. My question is if I do that does the IR blaster in the Kinect stop working or is the additional IR blaster plugged in the Xbox One in addition
to the Kinect IR Blaster? I want to make usre both still work so that I can control the devices both in and out side cabinets.

Plugged aux into ir blaster output

I thought that the ir output was for aux and it made a loud buzz when I plugged my speakers into the ir output and now I learned that the output is for an ir blaster do you think I may have damaged my Xbox should I exchange it for a new one?

It is not likely anything was damaged by doing that.

Well, if your speakers still produce sound, nothing bad happened.

The IR port on the console simply sends out an "on/off" signal. For a speaker it doesn't matter that it's not a "real" audio signal. An analogue sound signal is simply an electrical current that has more or less power depending on the sound being put out
    (like an analogue audio wave).

The more electrical power is put through a line, the more the magnet in a speaker will move the membrane of the speaker, causing the air to vibrate and create a sound wave.

So for the speaker it was just a series of "LOUD SOUND - no sound- LOUD SOUND - no sound - no sound - LOUD SOUND..." signal which was alternating quick enough to make it sound like a screeching or buzzing, as the membrane was pushed all the way depending
on the loudness volume you set on your amplifier, then back several times.

In short: As long as you didn't pop your speaker membrane that way, everything will be all right.

Thanks! I was worried for the Xbox more than the speakers or the audio console. But I guess is like you said, this is all analog and low electrical pulse so. Thanks again for clearing me on this!

Xbox one x audio out IR?

IR out: Infrared output port for IR blaster (optional; IR blaster not included).

The IR port is designed to control devices via an IR transmitter such as a home theater system.

    IR extension cables etc.

Plugged aux into ir blaster output

Your Xbox shouldn't be damaged if you accidentally connected speakers into the IR output. The buzzing would be expected since it's not actual audio being transmitted through that port.

If your Xbox is still running normal (turns on fine, no problems running games, etc), then there should be nothing to worry about. If it has indeed damaged your Xbox, you can always register your console serial number and schedule a repair
    here.

The Xbox One only outputs audio digitally, and only has two outputs for that: HDMI or Optical.

If your external speakers only connect with a 3.5mm jack, you can hook it up to your TV/display
IF it has a 3.5mm port for outputting audio, or RCA (red/white) outputs (converted to 3.5mm with an adapter). See your TV/display manual for instructions on how to configure it to output to external speaker sources.
