Wow these forums are terrible.

I agree with Issac in that these forums are layed out terribly, but not that someone should get fired. He used to be a regular around here so he knows how it used to be better. I’d say most people here now are new to the forums so don’t the way it used to
be.

Things I would do to make them better and some have been said already and these have been done in the past:

1. Separate discussion and support. Do not have them on the same page. Any discussion we might get going gets drowned out by support posts because they’re not posting in the correct section.

2. Dedicated game forums.

3. Give more than a minute or two to edit our posts. Seriously, it’s so annoying.

4. Bring forums icons, cul levels or something similar back. Display or gamerscore. They gave these forums a bit of character.

5. Darken it a bit. Give us some customization options.

6. Chill with the amount of threads being locked. It’s unnecessary and obvious that some are being locked for no reason. This is very off putting. People can disagree with MS or be unhappy about a particular product or service.

7. When threads are locked, give a quick explanation why. That way people can see it and it may help prevent them from doing it or doing it again. Locking for no reason, and not giving an explanation is incredibly rude.

Other than that these forums have been getting more populated so that’s a good thing. I’ve been on these forums since 2007 so I just want to see them be good again.

 

Some more detailed feedback is always welcome I'm sure.

I have noticed using them on mobile is pretty poor.

With the on screen keyboard taking up half the screen there is also a Did this solve floating box that takes up another half of what is left.

 

A lot of threads are bing locked right now to cut down on multiple postings of the same same answer. With the influx of Ambassadors posting because of Responder bing down, threads are being answered by multiple Ambassadors but with the same answers just
to gain XP.

 

I see what you mean however, it seems most, not all, but most that have the slightest hint of anger or sadness at MS get locked whilst other threads that need to be locked aren’t. I wish it was more consistent but at the end of the day it’s better than it
has been recently.

 

It would help if more of the mods would pitch in too. I've only seen 2 of them doing everything so I know a lot gets missed.

 

Yes that’s true. I don’t want it to seem like I’m complaining about them specifically.

 

I do prefer the Xbox Forums, apposed to the new answers.microsoft.com layout.

 

I utterly agree. Microsoft is the biggest software company in the world and they still can't create a fluid forum website. Their data harvesting is what makes their forum site run like a snail and I have good internet vodafone high speed. Middle aged people
may be fine with it but not my generation.
