Wouldn't it be nice if we could play more games without buying the game twice?

For the situation to improve, Microsoft need to change the way the Windows Store works in regards to PC games.

This is also why many developers/publishers have not brought their games over to the Play Anywhere,
it's not popular and has too many flaws.

Out of all of the PC digital store fronts you can buy PC games, the Windows Store is the worst in my opinion. There are three issues I have with it and its games:

1. There is no official way to back up your installed games. This means, if you install the OS again or you build a new machine (like me) or buy a new computer, you have to download your games again. This isn't an issue with other PC digital platforms
such as Steam, Origin, GoG, etc.

2. The games are locked behind folders that you need to manually change Admin rights to access within Windows. I can understand this being there to prevent piracy, but no other PC game store does this.

3. The games, by and large, don't allow you to use a third party OSD such MSI Afterburner, to allow you to check your system performance. Crackdown 2 has a great built in performance tool, but older Windows Store games don't have this. For PC tech types,
a FPS counter isn't enough.

I'm hoping for some big Xbox Play Anywhere news this E3!!!

Yes there is certainly the money problem on the short term, but I'm pretty sure it could be profitable on the long term, at least there could be an option to buy on multiple console at once at a discounted price or something like that.

I definitely agree with you, but unfortunately not all developers want to do that and possibly earn less money.

Aren't most new xbox games the past two years Play Anywhere?
