What are you talking about? I have an account on the official forum and don't own the game yet since I'm waiting for the console but I can post and ask questions and comment.

 

^ can you post a link? because as of now the old temps forums has been closed and now you need to some kind of invitation code to sign up to the new forums, so I would say you either got a code, got the game, got lucky or you are actually not in the official

This is where I have been reading and posting since the beta and it is where official announcements are located. When it was open during the beta I made an account and uploaded an ID picture and participated. After the April 4 launch (or actually at early
access) the forum reopened and the old picture was gone and I can't access the two discussions I had from the beta period but I was able to choose a new ID picture and have been able to post comments in the forum. I have no account other than the beta key.
I know that doesn't work because I have opened it on my computer and it wants me to begin a real account. I suppose I just got lucky because i was in the last two beta weekends and opened an account on the forum at that time. I will say this, too, it is not
a really friendly forum so far; they are mostly very angry about everything. The community here is mellower, less confrontational.

 

You are able to post on the Official Forums because you had access to the BETA.

For those that didn't have access to the BETA and do not own the game we may not post on the Forums.

We may not discuss TESO on the Official Bethesda Forums website either.

Your thread is locked and you are told to go post on the Official TESO website... but you can't do this if you do not own the game and did not have access to the BETA.

I really want to like this game but with a greedy sub (I don't mind a sub, I do mind having to re-buy the game every 4 months after paying full price for it) and stuff like this I'm really put off.

Tons of people are going to pick this up because they enjoyed "Skyrim".

Subscription fees are nothing new to mmos. The developers use them to pay for the massive development costs of these games. If you play the game you might actually appreciate the work that has gone into it.

 

Has anyone who was unable to post on the official TESO forums tried the Tamriel Foundry? I joined that one before I got into the beta. It is not an official site but I find it much friendlier and helpful and always up to date on real information. Many use
their combat add on.

I haven't joined Tamriel Foundry yet because I thought they were mainly PC guys but if they have console players on there as well as PC I will sign up.

 

Tamriel Foundry is PC, because that is all there is. After the console launch then we'll see. Nevertheless, they are friendly and helpful about answering questions and the game is still the same. I thought you were playing on PC until the console drops.

 

Well I hope they do come over to console as well because they probably have the best site of all the ESO fan sites. I'm playing PC every day. Almost level 40 now. Still hate playing on my keyboard tho. Unco as hell trying to tank on PC

 

Its the way a lot of sub based games work to cut down on BOTs, spam and just bitter people who no longer use their products.

You can play on the xbox one or 360 controller using programs like XPadder. Thats how I've playyed since November BETA
