We all paid roughly the same amount of money on the Xbox One.

As for 4K, the X1's HDMI is already 4K ready, but give it time for it to become a standard output.

In regards to the OP's question:

I think it depends on the product. I bought the Xbox 360 on day 1 & although it was fun, it did seem kind of barebones at the time. I decided to wait for a while after the release of the Xbox One & it STILL felt king of barebones (still fun too of course).
The trade-off of waiting a long time is knowing that I'd be missing out on all of the cool things that are there such as new games &/or features & seeing what changes as it changes. So, I think I will be deciding largely on a case by case basis.

 

Same, I suppose I'm one of the ones who had a lucky escape, not having a defected day one console.

Providing the next console will run smoothly out of the box as the X1 did, my version anyway, it'll be all good.

 

Love my X1, enjoyed playing DR3 and KI. I really love using Kinect 2.0 and could careless about some people getting a free game after 3 months so yeah I would as long as it appeals to what I want.

 

Of course. They did nothing to me to make me not enjoy the hell out of XB1. My wallet may have been happier with a cheaper price & no Kinect, but its not that bad for the entertainment I get out of the package. They also have the largest lineup of exclusives
I want. The only thing during the reveal I wasn't onboard with was the always online but I knew that wouldn't fly. If they kept it that way I would of only bought exclusives for XB1. And as of right now the next 2 exclusives I am playing are online only anyway.

 

Without a doubt. They have done nothing wrong. They offered a free game with purchase on day one. I didn't care then and I don't care now. Bundles happen, and that is what this is. A bundle. Titanfall isn't going to be included in every Xbox One. it isn't
a standard sku.

People cry about so much these days.

 

Will definitely be there day 1 again. Love the console and launch games and the launch event they had here in NZ was awesome!!

Mind you I don't tend to whine like a spoilt brat when others getting great deals later...

 

I seriously would love to wait but it never happens. When it comes to new tech I'm like a junkie. I've just got to have it. My big this has always been, well I'm going to buy it eventually, why wait!

 

Btw, I have no regrets about purchasing my XO on day 1. Even with this news, I still would have done it this way.

 

That whole 4K thing is a non issue. They need to knock a zero off of those tvs before they become mainstream.

 

I might do a day one again. But I would never get a Day One Xbox. Im not very happy with the Xbox One, missing multiple features that the 360 had. The biggest issue is the game installation. I picked up my pre-ordered copy of Thief today at 4:30, and I still
haven't made it to the main menu. First installation attempt got stuck at 7 percent so I had to reboot. It finally finished installation only to need an update for the game which has now once again frozen up at 7%. Plus you of course cant just pop in a disc
and play because then you might actually be able to enjoy the game you bought on the day you bought it!!!!!!! The Xbox has some great features, the new controller, improved graphics, Blu-Ray player, and the voice controls that work well most of the time. However
the game installation process is way too long, and it doesnt even have some of the online capabilities of the 360. It is a more sophisticated and polished machine, with fewer functional features. It's a little upsetting.
