[/quote]You are borrowing the disk but you are using the game without paying for it and yes it is stealing.

Used games, borrowing/lending, and renting, where it ultimately leads to the person not buying a new copy, does hurt the industry in terms of how much money the pub/devs make.



It's really a matter of:



"How much do they lose?"

"How harmful is it to the industry?"

"Where is that money going?"

"Would the extra profits go toward bigger/more games?"



We'll never really know.

Why would you want to borrow games, just buy them. The more profit that we get, the more games we can make. I don't lend or borrow games, because that takes money out of Microsofts pockets, no money = no more gears and halo old sport, gears and halo single
handily revolutionized gaming. Me personally I don't mind new buying games, think of it like this, your not paying to play the game, your paying for it to support Microsoft old sport.

I'm surprised more people don't lend or borrow games. I remember being a kid and the first game I borrowed from someone was The Karate Kid on the NES. It was huge fun for me at the time, though I'm sure now I'd probably hate the game today. I suppose
though, it depends on the people you know. There are people I know that I would never loan a game to so I guess I understand why.
