    Would there be a way to change the primary storage device for downloads?


    Without having to change the device all the time that I want to download things onto so i don't have to go through each item bit by bit to change the device I want to download to? Thanks in advance Would there be a way to change the primary storage device for downloads? :)

    The Xbox always looks for a primary storage device to install systems updates and in your case that is the faulty internal memory unit, until that is fixed there is no way to update the Xbox, it is also not possible to switch which storage device is the
    used as the primary storage device.

    Profiles deleted/update required/update failed/disc unreadable/status code; 3F4A-0000-3000-0800-D000-0185

    For now I'd concentrate on the memory unit alone. The updates are always downloaded to the primary storage device which would be the internal memory unit. I don't believe there would be any need to format the hard drive just the memory unit.

    nope the system will always download to the default storage device that came with the system.

    Have you checked the System-Settings for harddrives? I don't own any USB-Keys (heh, yeah I know...) but see if you can Change thhe "Primary" save Location. If not then there is no way to set the USB Storage as a Primary download target.

    While the download is active (or still waiting in your download queue), select it, and choose Change Storage Device. It should be one of the options you can choose along with Cancel Download, and Download Now (if it's not actively downloading). As far as
    I know there is no way to change the storage device before choosing to download something, only once it's somewhere in your Active Download list.
