I'm a regular Xbox One user (not insider).

I hope that MS will continue to update their OSU1 files to correspond with the current system update release because some of us just can't update the OS through Xbox Live (E102, E105 errors and all manners of nonsense).

What if I never download system updates?

Just to add: MS should clearly mention what version of the system update the current OSU1 files correspond to.

OSU1 is for Xbox One-X, am I right?

    OSU1 not up to date.

New osu1 is out fixed my issue right away fyi
Can you please check the last four digits in your OS under console info in Settings?

I downloaded the OSU1 file a few days back, pretty sure it was a good 24-36 hours after the August 2019 system update was released. But my dash still has the last four digits of the July OS.

It doesn't make sense for MS to not update the OSU1 files. If the current OSU1 (that I downloaded) updated my system to July 2019, then surely it would have been updated to reflect the dash version of the August 2019 OS update by now, correct?

However, you're saying that they have released the new OSU1. Please confirm the OS version number, can you?

    Thanks!

OSU1 updates - How do I know its the latest version?

    Hello Speedster,

Thanks for keeping us updated. As mentioned above, the OSU1 shouldn't be used to update your console to the most recent update. It is only used for troubleshooting purposes.

Aside from that, by "Hard resets" do you mean
    power cycles
, or factory resets? Nothing bad should happen to your console if you are performing either of these troubleshooting steps. However, if you constantly need to do factory resets to use your console, then you should consider sending in your

    console for repair.

Aside from that, one Easy way to troubleshoot downloading system updates would be trying to update your console on a different home network. using a hotspot is not recommended, but if that is all you have then I would give it a shot.
    * Nothing wrong with my internet

    * I understand that hard resets and factory resets are two different things

    * Why can't MS keep the OSU1 files updated for those that can't update through Xbox Live?

    * Can't send for repairs - not an option at the moment

I already know what the problem is with my console that's why I'm not doing anything that requires accessing the internal HDD in any way.

Can I continue enjoying games without system updates? Nobody seems to want to answer that.

Could someone here be kind enough to ask MS to keep the OSU1 files updated to the latest dash version?

"Thanks for keeping us updated. As mentioned above, the OSU1 shouldn't be used to update your console to the most recent update. It is only used for troubleshooting purposes."

Still, the OSU1 files correspond to the July 2019 OS version. Do you know when MS will update this to August 2019 OS version?

What if I never download system updates?

Yeah, it is what it is. Tough luck I suppose.

Ironic that my fat Xbox-one still runs flawlessly to this day and 95% of the time I've used everything on the internal storage.

What other options do I have apart from the OSU1 system update?

By the way, is there any way to check what version the OSU1 offline update is? On the support page it says that the OS received an update on Aug 13, 2019 - but the OSU1 file I downloaded again on Aug 14 (stupidly assuming that it would have the latest files)
updates the system to the July OS version.

Hasn't MS updated the offline files to the latest Aug 19' OS version, you reckon?

After reset my xbox one x shows only chinese language you cannot scroll down to find other languages

Can’t you offline update the Xbox one **** system via USB contains the OSU1 Latest update file from Xbox support because it has different language in the OSU1 update
