    Worst customer service from microsoft.


    Had issue with Kinect, chatted with support and placed order to replace the Kinect 3 weeks ago. Was given a FedEx label to ship the defective Kinect & told that new Kinect will ship 2-3 weeks or before. I sent the defective peace next day & was delivered
    in 2 days (as per tracking number). I kept chatting with support guys and everytime I was told that my order is in progress (which I can see from the support website) & the support people had no clue of whats going.

    No status change even after 3 weeks, I was frustrated and had a chat again yesterday. The person says me that the defective is not received by them. I gave the tracking ID & person name who signed the device from them, then the support person told me that
    they are going to escalate the issue & I would receive a call next day with more details. Following day, got a call from Microsoft, attended thinking that they would have more info about whats going, the person who spoke was completely dump, had no clue of
    whats going on, all I was told was, the defective peace handling is done by Microsoft hardware team (a separate company) if they dont update we have no way to reach them, they have no email ID, no phone number so we have to wait for them to update even if
    it takes 1 year.... Wow, tI just learnt this is the meaning of MICROSOFT.

    End of story, I am still waiting for these people to ship the replacement device. As I was informed by the support person on phone, might take an year or forever. I am wondering, its just for me or anyone else had such situation dealing with these people?

    Worst customer service from microsoft.

    There isn't a separate company. There must be a misunderstanding somewhere. I would contact support and ask to be escalated again.

    As mentioned in my first post, everytime I chat or speak to microsoft support they give me new info. Its really interesting to see how your customer service takes care of customers. The person I spoke yesterday I spoke was clearly mentioned.. that separate
    hardware company has no email, no phone number so she or her team cannot reach them in anyways, I asked her to escalate it to someone. she said, no one can do anything if I cant. Wow... I doubt if she has any knowledge about things go, if not its the way microsoft
    works in supporting customers like me!

    Let me see, what you can do with this!

    Me? There's sadly nothing that I can do with this. That's why I recommended asking to be escalated. I'd mention wanting to have Tier 3 support assigned to your case. They are the top level of support and the folks who can move mountains to get things done
    when needed.

    Ok, my bad. I had chat again, this person told me that he is escalating & gave me a new case ID. When I tried the new one to see the status, its throwing error message. Not sure if its just internal to them but my old case ID is still exists. Anyway, Thank

    Hmm that is a bit odd. It sounds like the lower tier agent just requested a new service order instead of escalating the existing case.

    I called the support, looks like the lower tier didnt do this. The person who I asked to escalate actually escalated the issue & the person on the phone said, it would be some confusion at tier 3 who is currently working on this ticket & you may have wait
    for another 4 days to be contacted by tier 3 to know more Worst customer service from microsoft. :)
