Worried about the future of Xbox

So at quick glance now a few gamers are comparing which console runs a little cooler and hotter? what next? which one has the nicer looking plug? lol ...

I'm off to play Shadow of Mordor, I'll let others worry/lose sleep over which console is out in front, which one has the better online service, which one has better exclusives ... blah blah blah blah ...

 

To really answer the OP, "worried about the future of xbox", don't be. Even if the shareholders sold the brand, it would continue. But I don't think it will be sold. In an industry that has seen the decline of big names such as Sega and Atari, Xbox has established
itself alongside Nintendo and Sony. And the best thing for gamers is if the competition remains.

 

No one knows what the future holds, do they ? MS have lost money regards the One otherwise why would they lay people off ? every company operates at a loss at some point that's business.

That's why MS have expanded into other areas since X Box, their next venture will be smart watches to compete with the likes of Samsung Apple etc.

 

I have 2 xbox 360s at home and enjoy the games on that platform immensely still. My next gen console is currently a PS4... not because I was angry at MS or thought the Xbox One was a poor choice, but because it was a free gift. Who would turn that away
right?

I am enjoying the PS4 - I had an original PS but skipped PS 2 and 3 so this is sort of all new to me. The PSN I read has been down a bit lately but never at times that I was on so I can't say their service is bad. I'm enjoying Destiny (also available on
xbox one), LOTR Mordor (also on xbox one) and TheGolfClub Game (also on xbox one). I downloaded DriveClub which yes has had a pretty rough launch for online play but the single player has been entertaining. I suspect the Forza series on One still knocks
the socks off Drive Club. I was looking forward to Project Cars (available on both consoles) but now that was delayed.

I don't think that the Xbox One is going to suffer one bit... at least from a gamers perspective. Microsoft may be unhappy with their sales figures but as many others have said - the one has still been a decent launch out pacing the xbox 360 which was an
excellent platform.

I am sure that one day I will get an xbox one as well but now that I have a ps4, this may be a ways off yet. I firmly believe that both consoles will thrive but both consoles (imho) have taken a little longer to get a foot hold simply because the last generation
was so good.

Here's my 2 cents. I researched both consoles as they were announced to see which one offered me more of what I would enjoy. As a owner of both the Xbox 360 and PS3, I sought out 1 console over the other since I did not have it like that to get both consoles
at their launch. To me, the entertainment features of the Xbox One appealed to me along with the next gen gaming capabilities it possessed. As a result of such findings, the choice became clear to me - "Make mine the Xbox One!". While the whole DRM and used
game policy was nearly a game changer for me, I was glad it was over turned because I really wanted the Xbox One first. I do plan to get both consoles because I am NOT a fanboy of any console company but a gamer that likes GAMES. The more consoles I have,
the more games I can enjoy. Simple. Now as far as Xbox One vs. PS4, I am glad for competition. Regardless of who's winning at the time. Competition is ALWAYS good for the consumer. For all of you football game fans as myself, we got shafted big time when ea
sports got in bed with the NFL and formed their monopoly on video football games taking NFL 2K out of the equation. Now only madden exists and has been very lackluster at best since. Now it is madden or nothing. All choice is gone. As a money paying consumer,
I'll pass on that every time. With that in mind, imagine what it would be like if there was only 1 game console out there? We certainly would not have a voice as to what we wanted as gamers because of the "take it or leave it" attitude of that lone company.

Just look at it like this, yes the PS4 is selling better at the moment and yes it will very likely have the bigger market share at the end of the gen BUT there is still a long way to go and a lot of people yet to make the next gen leap. As the systems get
cheaper and more great games are released, many will end up owning both, some already do (me). Way too early to be worried!!

X1 is doing very well regardless and MS have said many times that they want to do better so will be pushing to bring content people want. Phil Spencer has been making all the right moves and am excited to see what he has planned!

@Wild, seriously? Don't start a layoff debate haha. Also why would MS not expand into other areas? Is a very large tech company bringing out more devices/services meant to be a bad thing?

Are debate which console cooler lol.on the ps4 forum big thread on how the frame rate ruins some games.but when they played the xb1 it runs fine.even a PlayStation user said ryse son of Rome is best looking next gen.seems like if you mention xbox one on
there they will kill you well some people will.anyway I might well purchase ps4 second hand just to do me fifa tournaments.virgin gaming gone down hill for me

 

If the only sites you visit are N4G and IGN you'd think the XB1 is horrible. Anymore I mostly ready those sites for laughs and to listen to the Xbox podcast..it's not too bad.

I had a 360 and PS3 both last gen but got rid of my 360 late in the gen..stupid decision btw. I like both but when this gen come around I looked hard and long at everything both had to offer and picked XB1. I'm happy..so happy I purchased a 3 year warranty
lol. I'll eventuality get a PS4 but what I've heard about Infamous SS was so disappointing and I don't have high hopes for The Order either.

But right now I'm loving Destiny; played Ryse thought it looked awesome. 22 Samsung 1080p LED TV. Am I concerned about XB1? Nah not really; more concerned about Sony's money issues but I've not really looked at it much lately. I think both companies will
be around for quite a while.

 

I'm more worried about Ebola and ISIS.....
