Worried about the future of Xbox

The Xbox brand isn't going anywhere, anyone who thinks that isn't looking at the bigger picture or even the past.

Nintendo didn't do that great during the Gamecube era & they didn't stop, the Wii came out & dominated. Sure the WiiU isn't doing spectacular but it is alive & kicking with their core franchises.

Sony had a big stumble with the PS3 during launch & took sometime to get back up to par & learned from their mistakes & now the PS4 is a better product.

The XB1 also tripped out of the gate but have gotten things back on track a lot faster than others have & it will show over time.

Misconception & bad PR isn't what will kill off any of the consoles. Lack of support will. And none of the big 3 are letting their platforms out to dry.

Wow!! I'm really worried about the future of XBOX. They said they were going to focus on 1st party games. If this is what they meant, I think we are in trouble

Thanks for the links, the Phil Spencer interview was great, he is definitely the man for the job, nothing I've heard him say gets me worried about the future of Xbox One, he makes me look forward to what MS have in store.

 

I wonder if these said gamers who say they not too bothered about the 1080 P actually own 1080 P tv's ? i mean if you don't then i can see why yopu not bothered.

Like the original poster i too look up every day news on PS and the XBOne, i like to see if there anything remotely exciting or interesting happening regards next gen the current gen what ever way you look at it (i'm still on PS3 360 gen)

I gotta to be honest kinda losing interest in gaming at the moment spend more time on Netflix. NEXT Gen or current gen is so slow it's unreal.

If you look at previous console launches ie N64 or PS1 i think this gen or next gen lol is lacking ideas or any really cutting edge games and that proves to be a real problem today.

A petition been started recently to get the GOW game collection onto the One! for the ones who love X Box and consider them selves a true hard core X box fan then ok.

I'm a gamer and always owned different consoles by different company's.

I can't help but feel that this new gen is still stuttering along and yet is to make a real impact like the 360 and PS3 did and old recycled game collections are not the way forward for consoles either.

 

Ppl count how many sony have SOLD but how many have been TRADED in or RESOLD

 

@ N7 that doesn't matter a sale is a sale but surely but it could count as two sales but that logic will also apply to XBOne too and any other electronic appliance even I Phones, moto cars.

Don't clutch at desperate stats a sale is a sale!

 

Yeah,i remember in previous generations ,the whole games library were available at launch and devs were able to use every inch of hardware....Those were the days.....of amnesia.

Yes WILD but websites like VGCHARTS and sony only count sales from shops not from places like fb i wonder how many day one buyers for the ps4 sold theres and got a xbox one

 

Somebody needs to tell Retailers how bad the XBox One is doing.

Because it's pushing "PS 4" out of Pride Of Place as the top console available to click on when it comes to games.

 

The Xbox brand is strong, but the 'Xbox One' brand isn't. The Playstation 4 is a Playstation or PS4 for clarity. The Xbox One is a Xbox or XBO, XB1, X1, One, XBOne, Xbone... for complete mess of popular branding. Even in this thread alone, between people
who agree and who do not... there is no common term for the system. lol

Expand that across the Internet and into popular culture and it's possibly the most hazy branding in video game history. Personally I think that animated Xbox One logo at the end of or before every trailer and bit of officially endorsed media should start
with "X1" and stretch out and morph into "Xbox One" to promote a frickin' consensus in what to call the system. {XD

 

N7 - Sorry mate, but that is illogical. It does not matter if Someone sold their PS4 on FB, or Ebay, Or Gumtree, or whatever for an Xbox One, Or Vice Versa..... The sales charts, and figures released are for new sales.

They purchased a Day One PS4, The sale counts, if they sell it on, it does not affect sales. If say 1 million people purchase a Day One console, and then sold it to purchase an their competitor. (or vice versa). That still means the company has sold that
many units. Re-sales do not affect new sales figures.

One could say, that that is a loss for the console maker, but it works both ways. For both MS and Sony

A second sale of the same console does not count, and would not be counted.

And back to the OP, as i said on the first page, do not worry, The Xbox One is selling well enough, and has a strong community. Game on whatever you want. If you like the X1 get it. What other people think shouldn't really matter, it's what you prefer that
does

 

Halo is going to give the XB1 a big jolt to sales upon release, for many reasons like those 360 gamers who haven't upgraded.

I've also been seeing a lot of bad feedback from PS4 owners & positive from XB1 owners which will help make gamers who are still on the fence to make a decision.

I doubt the XB1 will ever take over in sales simply because majority of the world won't pick MS over Sony & how PS4 won over the new casual crowd already. But gamers who want a reliable online console that does more than just simple display of graphics will
see the value.

 

I only read the first page (well the OP) and I just have to say, if that's what you think the tell-tale signs of a 'dying console' is, just wow.....
