    Won't read or recognize disk


    If any of you have have had this problem this is what i did after sending the unit/system into Microsoft twice for repair. I was that the problem was that I had the system plug into a power strip so when I got it back the second time I plugged it into
    the wall outlet directly and still it did not work, so I was about to take it to a Microsoft store for replacement and then I had a brainstorm, I had setup the system in a vertical configuration so I laid it down in horizontal and it worked and has been doing
    so for at least the last 24 hours. I had gotten this system in december and had problems with it since then, I have a Xbox, Xbox 360 and now this Xbox One, so I am into Microsoft but to have a system/unit so tempermental is amazing.

    Disk drive doesn't work

    Having same problem. Bought from Amazon and disk drive has crunching noise and won't read or play any disks.

    Hard Disk Drive Won't Recognize

    Never mind. I had to buy another drive for my system and it actually worked. I had to waste another $130 just to get another damn hard drive.

    Is there any way I can prevent this from happening again? I have no clue what I did wrong since I've been taking real good care of my system. I've always kept it well ventilated. I laid the system down just so it wouldn't fall. I've never even took out
    the hard drive that was inside the system ever since I bought it.

    Any ideas as to what caused the hard drive to fail like that?

    Hey mate,

    Unlike the 360, the Xbox One is designed to be positions horizontally, you should never place it vertically Won't read or recognize disk :)

    black ops wont install from disk

    Same here. My disk is in great condition and I have no problem reading other disks... It just doesn't recognize black ops

    reading trouble disk.

    not realy, most of my games are installed, but you cannot play the game before the Xbox recognizes the disk., wich is the actual problem, the Xbox doesn' read the disks, unless after opening and closing the disk drive 20x (and more)

    Can't Play Any Games other than borderlands & L4D2.

    Um Its not my disks that won't read. Its my downloaded games that won't play, and any game that is installed. My downloaded games and installed games register as unreadable disk. Aren't they supposed to read off of the hard drive.
