it wont let me sign into my xbox live account on my xbox because when i try to sign in it asks for my password,i put it in and loads for a bit then just does nothing and just asks me to sign in again.I need help to fix this.

Xbox won’t sign in

Cannot connect to Xbox Live on my Xbox One while playing an Xbox 360 game

I’m trying to sign into my Xbox Live account on Xbox One while playing Assassins Creed 3 for Xbox 360.

It won’t let me sign in.... I think it’s because I changed my gamer tag recently. My current gamer tag is BruteCommand and my old one is THE DEMON 100. It shows BruteCommand on my home screen but THE DEMON 100 when I try to sign in to Xbox Live on the game’s
home screen.

Does anyone at all have a solution or a theory to why this won’t work for me?

I understand how challenging this issue can be. I'd like to help you find a solution.

First, try clearing the cache on your console:

1. Turn off the console by holding the power button for 10 seconds.

2. Unplug the power cable from the back.

3. Wait at least 10 seconds.

4. Plug the power cable back in.

5. Turn the console back on.

Make sure there are no server outages on Xbox Status:

You might also want to try it on a different WiFi Network or mobile hotspot just to rule out if it's related to your internet provider.

I'm sorry you have this problem. Follow the instructions below for a solution.

Important Before trying the following solutions, make sure you can sign in to your Microsoft account online. To do this, go to account.microsoft.com, select Sign in, and enter your Microsoft account email address and new password.

Solutions
Press and hold the Xbox  button in the center of your Xbox controller to open the Home/Stop center.
Select Restart console.
Select Restart.
Once the console has restarted, try signing in again.

Step 1: Remove your account from the console
Press the Xbox  button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.
Select your account and confirm the operation.
Restart the console (see solution steps 1).

Step 2: Add your account back to the console
Press the Xbox Button  to open the guide.
Select Profile & system and then Add or change.
Select Add new.
Enter the email address and password for your Microsoft account.
Complete the personalization settings on the following screens.
