otherwise contacting support is the other way to go. try maybe contacting them on twitter, i find sometimes support is active there

Did you only used that account to order the controller? Or do you have an active subscription right now?

Also, if you try adding temporarily a different payment method (like paypal) and then try delete the first one, it works?

It will clearly show MY payment methods are the same..

As far as home Xbox goes, it physically won’t let me play on any other account..

And even if you add PayPal as a payment method the issue persist?

If that’s the case the best option for you is reach Microsoft support and check with them your account
In that way they can see if maybe something in the system is restricting your account
