wont connect to live status code: 417F-0000-3080-050B-8007-0070

Hey all. I've had my basic 360s for over a year now and all has been fine with it, connecting every day and no problems. Then on Thursday last week I had a system update. It seemed to update OK, then it said it wanted to do a second one, I clicked OK and
it started but then came up as a fail, as it constantly does, with the STATUS CODE: 417F-0000-3080-050B-8007-0070. I've tested the connection, Xbox to modem is OK, modem to internet is OK, but it wont connect to LIVE. I've not changed any settings anywhere
prior to this, I've tried updating via a CD, and a flash drive. The CD gives this STATUS CODE: 417F-0000-3000-090B-8007-0070, and exactly the same code when trying it from the flash. I've tried doing the live chat thing...lovely people but woefully unhelpful
at resolving my situation. There is no hard drive, just the tiny memory that it came with, that seemed to get wiped in the update that did all the damage. Any suggestions? Bear in mind I'm no wizard, I just play my sons cast off fantasy games, the most recent
of which has been Castlevania LOS.

they issued the update now a bunch of people are having problems and they are saying you have to send them in for repairs personally I am contacting a lawyer they put out an update then consoles stop working and WE have to get repairs that if out of warranty
will cost US

 

Hello original mozie,

I would recommend deleting the current update on your console.

To do this simply go to:

1. Settings

2. System

3. Storage

4. Highlight the hard drive and press LB RB X LB RB X (A message will pop up asking if you want to delete system update just put yes the console will then restart and ask for the new update)

 

Hey guys, Viking, the same thing was going thru my mind for the last few days. I recommend you try the fix that Mr real wreckage suggests first. I found that fix completely by accident while trawling thru the forums last night, and it worked a treat...sadly
during the sequence of things the live support suggested I do, my memory got wiped and I lost all my saved games...some were near to completion.

 

will it wipe my game data and such as mine aint updating ... if i did what wreckage says to do ?

 

just wondering as that stupid update that refuses to update has already corrupted some avatar items and my black ops 2 saved game
