Wondering if my system is having an issue... or my 3rd party power brick

Currently on my 2nd power brick. The first one after a month starting making grinding noises when turned on. Turning it off and back on would usually get rid of the loud noise. Started to happen frequently so I bought a 2nd brick since they are cheap. Few
weeks later, it's starting to happen again. Wondering if I should buy a genuine cable on somewhere like eBay, or is there an issue with my Xbox One system? I have it plugged into a power strip, though I'm not sure if that would affect the noise.

The X1 will power on and work without the controller, it will not without the power brick.

In my eyes, the brick is a component of the system, and not an accessory.

Can I buy a 3rd party power brick and still have the system covered under warranty if it fries? I'm pretty sure that warranty claim would be declined. However, if it's just an accessory, there should be no issue right?

 

Xbox one start on with sound and immediately turns back off

Hi,

My Xbox one was working till today, suddenly in noon time it shut down and after that whenever I try to start, it starts on with sound and immediately turns back off with in half a second. My original power brick blew off so I was using 3rd party power brick.

Does any one know what could be the issue ? Console or Power brick please suggest ?

It's quite possibly the fan making the noise. It's a bit like a lucky dip with all electronics, sometimes you'll get a fan that will have no issues at all and then you'll get one that's a bit noisy. Apart from the noise there is nothing wrong with it, it
will still do what it's supposed to do. Unless you're having issues with your Xbox One?
