Wolfenstein Taking an Absurd Amount of Time to Download

So I'm trying to download Wolfenstein and at the current rate it is downloading, it's gonna be about a 6 hour download. No game has ever taken that long to download before for me. Has anyone else had an issue with this?

    :)

  2. Account is not permitted to download content with this rating?

The hell is this? Every time I try to download the demo, I get this. I have downloaded/purchased absurd amounts of mature-rated games and demos. Why is this different, and how do I make it so I can download the demo?

Downloads and updates taking a ridiculous amount of time.

Have you recently been getting an error when you turn on the 360 saying that some features are not available at this time?

Whenever there is an issue with XBL, you would often get that prompt or experience stand stills when trying to download anything.

  7. As MessiahBrowny mentioned it all depends on your consistent download speed.

If you test your speed under: Settings > Network > Detailed Network Statistics (Download speed is what matters) This is measured in Megabits (Bits, not Bytes) your download is measured in megabytes not bits.

Bits are 8 times smaller than bytes.

So to figure out how long a download may take.

Find your download speed in megabits.

Example: your megabit speed = 40mbps (Mega Bits Per Second) 40,000,000

Now divide that by 8 to convert it into bytes per second. = 5,000,000 or 5MB (Megabytes)

Now multiply that number x 60 to get per minute = 300,000,000 or 300MB (Megabytes)

Now multiply that number x 60 again to get bytes transfer per hour = 18,000,000,000 or 18GB (Gigabytes)

So in an ideal situation where your connection speed is perfectly consistent and no one else is using your connection. You could in theory download 18GB in an hour.

Take 44GB and divide it by 18GB and you get 2.444 hours. On a perfect connection that is used for nothing other than that download.

That assumes also that the source that you are downloading from is also perfect. So 4hours is pretty good considering all those factors.

A consistent connection is pretty rare. Most will vary quite a bit.

@c1664daz - The Xbox One games can't run from the disc anymore like the 360. The games are huge compared to 360 games. Imagine having to wait for 10 minutes between rounds waiting for the content to transfer from the bluray. It would be unplayable.

Downloads and updates taking a ridiculous amount of time.

Thanks Moz but it's not a lag issue. Not sure if you read my description but it's only updates that's the problem.
