    Wolfenstein 2009 Returning to steam?


    Hi there, I am a Wolfenstein fan, and I love Wolfenstein 2009, the game has been retired for nearly a decade now, so I am just wondering how likely would it be to see it pop up in the steam store once again? Cheers!

    We won't know anything for sure unless the sale fully goes through which should be later next year.

    Game developer it's Raven software, i believe they have been adquired by Activision, so they will be the ones able to make this happens

    I know there's a purchase process currently from Xbox but this is still on first steps, still a long way for it to finish

    What? There are a whole slew of Wolfenstein games. I've played the original id Wolfenstein, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and the remake of Wolfenstein in 2009. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was the one I enjoyed the most. Sadly, it kind of lost something
    over the years and started looking like every other FPS.

    Hi,

    This is a community forum, so your guess is as good as ours. What I can tell you is that Microsoft announced in November 2021 that the last batch of BC games to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Xbox would be the last.

    Also, it's important to understand that presently while Activision's board agreed to be purchased by Microsoft, MS doesn't own Activision yet, it's not a completed deal. This won't complete until 2023, assuming there are no legal objections.

    Since Microsoft has officially ended BC there is little chance of Wolfenstein 2009 coming back to Xbox. The PC version has a much better chance. But honestly, we have no idea.
