    Wolfenstein 2009 rerelease?


    Now that Microsoft owns all the companies that made Wolf 09, is there a possibility that it can be rereleased? Cause the only ways to play the game are either to buy it on eBay or pirate it. The PC is kinda expensive but the Xbox 360 version is pretty cheap.

    Hi,

    This is a community forum, so your guess is as good as ours. What I can tell you is that Microsoft announced in November 2021 that the last batch of BC games to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Xbox would be the last.

    Also, it's important to understand that presently while Activision's board agreed to be purchased by Microsoft, MS doesn't own Activision yet, it's not a completed deal. This won't complete until 2023, assuming there are no legal objections.

    Since Microsoft has officially ended BC there is little chance of Wolfenstein 2009 coming back to Xbox. The PC version has a much better chance. But honestly, we have no idea.

    What games would you like to see come to Xbox from PC?

    An HD collection of Half Life 1 and the spinoff games Blue Shift and the one where you are a solider. Or perhaps The Witcher 1 since parts 2 and 3 are Xbox One. The Ultima collection or even a rerelease of Wolfenstein 3D since the first three Doom games
    were rereleased.

    What? There are a whole slew of Wolfenstein games. I've played the original id Wolfenstein, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and the remake of Wolfenstein in 2009. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was the one I enjoyed the most. Sadly, it kind of lost something
    over the years and started looking like every other FPS.

    Thanks for the help - yeah it's weird, Doom let people redownload the updated version, but since Wolfenstein had to get recertified and all that jazz when it got rereleased by Bethesda marketplace still asks for $4.99 to download the updated version. Oh
    well.
