Wolf bounties, what am I doing wrong?

I did a couple of bounties before I realized you get access to chests/loot. I am trying to do some more bounties and play alone. It seems that even my legendary weapons don't hurt the bounty bosses. Is there a trick I am not aware of? It seems when I get
to the main boss and shoot them it says immune and I get killed over and over until the time runs out and I need to start over again. The first couple of bounties I did I ended up having random online people fight the boss with me. The last couple of times
I was on my own and since none of the weapons I used did any damage to the boss I couldn't finish the bounty.

Yeah, that's too low to go after those bounties on your own. It may say level 28, but those wolf bounties are buffed.

 

Frustrating because I need to be leveled up to level up. I have been grinding a lot lately and my points totals are climbing painfully slow. Guess that is my only option. Thanks for the reply

 

If you've got enough vanguard/crucible marks, you can get some gear from vendors. It's how I started off this week, now my hunter is a level 34. I began this expansion at 29.

 

I don't have enough marks and my time is so limited I can't seem to get enough for the times I get to play.
