  1. Wo Long Update failure

Not sure if anyone else has has had this. I've had it happen with Monster Hunter Rise in the past (albeit it was fixed with an uninstall and reinstall) so I'm thinking it's some issues with the PC Xbox launcher.

I've played like half the game so it has been working, but today it's decided I need "an update", which is apparently 40gbs (size of the game). When trying to install it comes up with an error every couple of hundred megs. I originally cancelled this, uninstalled the game, then reinstalled, but it came up with the same error. Second time around I kept telling it to resume over and over 200mb at a time to get the full thing done, but at full 40 gb it just keeps saying error.

    :)

    Wo Long Update failure

    Hello Matt Carmichael1,

Thank you for sharing your concern here in Xbox Community Forum and we hope that all is well.

Based on the description, you are having issue reinstalling the game Wo Long in your Windows PC because you are getting an error message. Let us see how we can help.

We would like to know more about it in details so that we can provide a more accurate resolution to your concern.

    1. When did the issue start?
    2. Has there been any changes with the device before this issue happen?
    3. What is the exact error message you are getting?
    4. Do you have enough space of your drive where you are installing the game?
    5. What is the version of Windows you are using?

For the meantime, we are going to perform some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

    1. Make sure Windows is up to date.

    • Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.
    • On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.
    • On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available including optional updates for your device.
    • Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.
    • Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.

    2. Update your Windows and device drivers.

For the best game performance, make sure your system’s video card drivers (or display adapter drivers) are up to date. Drivers are available on the support website for your computer manufacturer, or if your computer system is custom built, on the video card manufacturer’s support website. Updating video card drivers can resolve game crashes, improve frame rates, and improve overall game performance.

    3. Make sure both the Xbox and Gaming Apps are up to date.

    • Press the Start button on the taskbar, type store, and open the Microsoft Store app.
    • Select Library.
    • Under Updates & downloads, check if there are any updates available for the Xbox app or Gaming Services app. If an update is available, select Update.
    4. Make sure you are signed in to the Xbox app and the Store with the same account.

    • When you open the Xbox app on your device, be sure you sign in to the app using your own Xbox account. You may also need to be signed in to the Store (xbox.com) in order to play a purchased game.

To make sure your permissions for the game can be validated, be sure to sign in to both the Store and the Xbox app using the same account that was used to purchase the game.
    5. Remove and Reinstall Gaming Services

    • Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.
    • In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

      get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
    • In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

      start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
    • Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
    • Restart your device and try to install the game again.

    Wo Long Update failure

I did another full uninstall and reinstall overnight and this morning the update required was only 10gbs, so it may have fixed itself.

    1) It started yesterday. I'd played it in the morning, left the computer running, and when I came back from work it said it needed an update, at which point the update tried to redownload the entire game again and failed.

    2) No changes, computer had not even been turned off between working and not.

    3) There's no error code, it just says Error. Given the game isn't considered to be installed the main gamepass screen just offers to install.

    4) Yes, I had 200gb clear and deleted some other stuff between attempts.

    5) Windows 10.

    ----------------------

    1) Says I'm up to date.

    2) Updating this currently.

    3) There was an update available for gaming services, done now.

    4) Yes I only have one account.

    5) Will try if the last couple of updates didn't work.

Why do you have such sucky games coming to Xbox game pass

There have been several resident evil games on Game Pass, if memory serves 5,6,7 I think

There are lots of major title games, Monster hunter rise is coming as well as Wo Long in the coming weeks. You can try a demo of Wo long now
