  1. WMC Connection Failure

I have been having issues adding my 360 as an extender. I believe I am having a firewall issue but I am unsure what the resolution is. The only way I was able to complete the extender install was to turn off both windows firewalls. Even with the firewalls
turned off, I have never been able to successful launching wmc. I get to the blue screen where you think it will launch and then I get a disconnect error. WC Extenders is checked in both public and private under allow programs to communicate through windows
    firewall.

I can find the computer on the network without an issue and play videos via the System Video Player. I am at a loss of what to do here.

    :)

Windows Media Center freezes on Xbox 360

    Please help.

For a couple of days now, when I turn on WMC on my xbox 360, I go to recorded tv and when I try to select a show to wach, WMC freezes. I can not move. I can push the center button which will let me back out.

I log back in to WMC and I get the following error message: Connection Failure. The xbox 360 could not connect to the WMC PC. Turn your xbox 360 off then on again, then try to connect again. I do exactly that and WMC freezes again. I try to go to movies
or another section of WMC. I can make a few moves, but it eventually freezes again.

On my pc in WMC, under extensions there is a image of my xbox 360, but there is a large yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the center. There is a message that says "Set up but not available"

WMC is working fine on the PC and I am able to watch my recorded shows, no problem.

I have not made any changes to my PC or my network. The pc is connected directly to my xbox, not through a router. I have tuned the network in the 360. All connections are working and fine.

I have removed and added the xbox 360 extender several times. I have reformatted the Xbox 360 hard drive. I am this close to reformatting my PC, but I would like to avoid that if I can.

Please help me to fix this problem and I will be eternally greatfull.

    Thanks

XBox tells me WindowsMediaCenter is not available

When I try to ask my XBox to link to and bring up WMC it fails and asks me to check if my PC is turned on.

However when I go to Settings in the XBox and run diagnostic tests on BOTH my network and WMC it tells me everything up up and running fine and properly identifies the PC which runs WMC..

I have tried powering down and relogging on to the XBox but get the same message of failure.

    Weird.

Where is Microsoft Windows Media Center?

The xb1 does not have WMC functionality and I believe it never will. Microsoft is going to drop support for the WMC altogether soon. It's a shame but I can't blame them. Not even 5% of people with windows operating systems use the WMC. It doesn't make too
much sense financially to support it.

You're left with the option of connecting a 360 or a PC with WMC to the xb1 HDMI input.

    Windows Media Center issues

Ok i think i manage to connect my PC with the XBOX 360 WMC, but when i try to upload a video from my PC to XBOX 360 WMC i have the following message "Some files which are necesarry for the video are not installed or not worked properly. Restart WMC or your
computer". Im not sure what this is.

One other thing though. What about Online media section. I still can't see Online media section on my XBOX 360 WMC. Is there anything else i should do?

What are my Options with OTA?

My question is why is Microsoft not addressing this issue? I paid for WMC on my computer so I can plug OTA and DVR to my hard drive. After that I stream it to my Xbox 360 for viewing. XBOX1 will not support WMC or have a connection option for OTA? What
    a joke!

tried this and no joy :( it doesnt find anything. Still stuck with X1 and an HTPC with WMC. So annoyed with Microsoft that they not only cripple their devices in his way, but even worse - cant even ensure THEIR own products works seamlessly across. There's
no native way to connect a whs2011 to X1 for example or not smart way of using my WMC via x1. plain stupid
