    WLID and xbox gamertag


    I've recently got a new computer that has windows 8 running on it. \When I logged on the first time, I used my current email address. When I went to the xbox section, a gamertag is apparently already associated with this account, even though I've never created
    one. I had wanted to switch the gamertag i actually use and that has my membership on it to my current email address. From what I've read, that is quite the process... and might not work because my current address also housses my microsoft office subscription.

    Can anyone lead me in the right direction? I want my old hotmail gamertag associated with my gmail account that I now use for everything. Or, can I someone use that gamertag on my new laptop without syncing the hotmail address? I want to keep my gmail associated
    with the laptop.... WLID and xbox gamertag o_O

    My WLID and gamertags are nothing but a big mess.

    Hi, over the years I have had alot of different WLIDs and gamertags, and With Windows 8 and the new Microsoft Accounts rolling out I want to do some cleaning. I have 10 WLIDs and as many gamertags, I want to move some of the gamertags over to a new WLID
    and I want to delete other gamertags and WLIDs.



    I know that you can move your gamertag from one WLID to another using the Xbox, but since I can only do so once every 30 days it would take me many months to clean this sh*t up.



    Is there a better way to do this?

    Old Gamertag And current Gamertag have the same Windows ID

    When ever i tried to go online with my WLID on my phone or on xbox.com it would always log onto this gamertag my current gamertag is Frogy1218 When i tried to change my current gamertag to a new WLID it would tell me the the password was incorrect i redownloaded
    this gamertag into my xbox and double checked to see if they were the same WLID and they were i was wondering if theres anyway to remove this gamertag to and have my current one take its place or to change the WLID

    Error when trying to change Windows Live ID of gamertag

    Hello, the account I want to change the WLID from is this one (this gamertag) the gamertag I use every day is "elGuz UY" not this one.

    I want to change the WLID bounded to this gamertag ("") so that I free that WLID and use it on my "real" gamertag which is "elGuz UY".

    Log into account without Windows Live ID?

    every gamertag has a WLID associated with it

    everyone of those that is a real GT ( the only one that even shows as being a GT on this website is "Spartan G01") and it has a WLID I can guarantee you that,

    if you're able to log into it on an xbox, just click on your gamertag from the my xbox channal and look at your WLID on the "account management" panel

    Hey OranShingar! Can you explain a bit more what you mean? By "Character" name do you mean Gamertag? Can you list out how many different Gamertags you've created and WLID accounts you've created. For example:



    Gamertag A is linked to WLID A

    Gamertag B is linked to WLID A

    etc.



    Make sure not to list any actual Gamertags or WLIDs for personal safety!

    Hmmm, I don't think I'm looking to change the email address on my WLID.

    Basically I have two WLIDS. One for work and one for casual. The WLID for work is currently associated with my gamertag. My casual WLID is not. I want to associate my casual WLID with the my gamertag rather than work WLID. So basically I need to swap WLID
    and the only way to do this seem to be on the console.

    If I'm understanding you correctly, you have two gamertags with the same WLID? If so, that is probably your issue and I would recommend changing the WLID for the gamertag that it signs you in as. Then log into the gamertag you were originally unable to
    access, and it should work. It is my understanding that each gamertag should have a seperate WLID. Hope this helps.
