    Without the adapter, there is a high pitched whine in my mic


    I'm currently using my XO ONE turtle beach Headset with my gen 2 GOW edition controller, I was using an adapter just for the sake of being able to up and down my volume easier, but recently got rid of it. First thing I noticed when I plugged my headset in
    without the adapter was a high pitched whine, very quiet, but enough to be annoying as all hell, I originally thought I could just wait it out and next time I started my console it would be gone, but I was wrong, any suggestions?

    High Pitched Whine

    New XBOX 360 Elite has a loud high pitched whine when the system is off. I've updated to the most recent software version but appears to be hardware(coil) related.

    If there is another active thread please move this post, as all the others I foundseemed to be closed.

    Oh yeah, my X11's also have a high pitched whistle. Not noticeable when the volume is up, but still irritating. IRS worse when the mic is in use.

    this sounds a lot like coil whine. It's not exactly a concern but it can be annoying. is the noise high pitched?

    Double tap the home button go to settings mic settings and reduce mic monitoring. This will stop the high pitch noise

    it's not just the high pitched brigade, it's the idiots that think we all want to sit and listen to their garbage music being belted through the mic.
