with party chat down will that effect my mic?

since xbox is having problems with party chat would that in anyway effect regular game chat? this would be helpful to know before i buy a new mic and waste 20 bucks,

Appearing as "White" dot to friend in party chat, while they do not for me - friend cannot hear me in party

Been having this issue with my friend where we party up & to him my party icon is always "white" like I'm muted for him. to me he appears normal.

Both NATs are Open, with my xbox on a DMZ within my network (hardwired). Tried stock Xbox headset and our Stealth 500x, neither effect this issue.

Tried various online suggestions, such as, starting party outside the game then starting, trying to mute/unmute the party, checking to be sure we are in the same Party/Game chat. Nothing seems to effect this.

It seems like a party issue because we are able to Skype fine.

Is there anything else that I can try? will NXE have any updates to Party chat?

It could be something on Xbox's side, not yours. Don't worry, though. Things should be running smoothly soon, if they aren't already. Have a good day.

hey how did you use your mic in xbox app party chat in the first place? i launched "start a party (beta)" and it shows my mic, but i can't talk or hear anyone in the party chat. and my mic is the default recording device

I have the same issue as does my buddy but with the added effect of our 'Mute' buttons not lighting at all. in the party it says are mics should be working but nothing comes out. We hear others just fine in the party as well as in reg game chat if we switch.

I always stick 2 party chat, that way i'm assured a good, friendly banter with like minded people! It just annoys me when people talk carp down the mic or sing and my pet hate is people playing their telly or stereo down the mic!!!

This same issue has been ongoing for months. My son can hear his friends but his mic doesnt work.

The “fix” where you turn off the mic and push to talk in fortnite settings would occasionaly work bit now doesnt.

all other games and apps work with the mic.

The problem persists on another xbox signed in with his profile, using a different headset, so this is not a hardware issue.

other profiles on his xbox have no issues with sound/mic

this is an issue effecting certian profiles accross fortnite only party chat, xbox party chat works fine, which cant be used for crossplatform party play.
