Witcher 3 is available for Pre load.

That's the price digital games should be anyway. I will still go with a physical copy.

 

@Rippen the choices in Witcher 2 had loads of consequences. Whole sections of the game changed depending on certain conversation options.

 

The Witcher 2 was one of the biggest dissapointments on the 360 for me because I expected an RPG rather than an Action Adventure game dressed up as an RPG.

When I went back to it knowing what to expect I was able to enjoy it more and I'll certainly enjoy "The Witcher 3" having a better idea what to expect.

It's nice to have multiple paths but it's dissapointing that these are tied to dialogue.

It just seems redundant to turn back time to certain points in the game and re-make your choices into choices you wouldn't have made... or say things you wouldn't have said... just to unlock new consequences.

Also the last game was beginning to show it's age, especially with the combat (though it still has some of the greatest facial animations you'll see in modern gaming) so I'm looking forwards to a more polished offering as well.

It's all looking good so far. Let's hope it isn't a victim of it's own hype in the end.

 

I think I'm the only person on these forums who has no interest in this game. I don't ever recall anyone on my friends list on the 360 playing any of the earlier ones, and now everyone loves this one. Not weird at all.

 

^^ You're not alone. I've never had any interest in the Witcher games, and this one is no exception. I'll probably read some of the reviews and *maybe* pick it up later, but I'm not counting down the days until it's released.

"re-make your choice" ? You mean like in real life.

That's one of the point of RPGs ,you make choices,got concequences....No turning back (role play).

In Witcher, choices really matters,nothing is good,nothing is bad,everything is grey.Sometime you can be surprised by the concequences which show this is like (real) life not just smoke and mirrors to make you believe you have choices...

I've never had any interest in the Witcher games too, but when a game comes a long that looks really good then no matter if it's a franchise I've had no interest before, I have to take a look at it.

I'm not overly hyped for it, but I'm looking forward to trying it and finally have a new game to play.

 

It's like every games : not a game for everybody.

 

I agree with you to a point Tzar, however the Witcher is an already defined character, so your never going to be able to play through as a sorcerer Witcher for example as it just doesn't fit Geralt. So although I would say it's an RPG as you play the
role of Geralt and have choices of weapons, armour, spells your still going to be largely constrained by Geralts definition. Unlike a Skyrim where you choose every aspect of the character. I think that's why some people didn't enjoy the Witcher 2 who
were expecting a more traditional RPG with open character development. I certainly don't agree that it was purely an action/adventure game more of a hybrid of the two genres. Either way it was one of the best titles on the 360 in my opinion.

 

Witcher 2 also wasn't truly open world which 3 apparently is

I'm with Genchy - one of the best games on 360 for me(Witcher 2)

 

But as I said before, I'm getting the physical copy. It's only 3.95 more, I can live with that. Plus I'm getting it for the other console as I've got no space on my Xbox One.
