Witcher 2 Region error

I've downloaded The Witcher 2 for free from my region marketplace, when I go to play on the Xbox 360 it shows: "This disc region code is incorrect for this console"

I'm not using disc, I've downloaded from my region marketplace using my computer.

What do I need to do so I'm able to play?

I can Play other NTSC games, even NTSC-J games on my XBOX 360 but i cant play "The Witcher" which is also a NTSC game format/region. WHY?!

You need to check whether the version of the game your trying to play is region locked or not.. A good site for info is Play-Asia.com.

Also, do you mean The Witcher 2?

Witcher 2 doesn't want to download. Giving me region errors and I know I'm in the right region.

Also, where did you purchase your console?

 

My console is from USA, my gamer tag is set for Israel and I live in Israel

 

That may very well be the issue then. As video settings for consoles are different you would experience issues running some games.

North American consoles are set to NTSC while most European consoles are set to PAL. Consoles can only run games and play videos that are set to their respective regions. You won't be able to play that game until you get a PAL compatible console.

 

In my game collection on discs, I have NTSC games and also PAL, I've already downloaded some games in this region, no problem at all, only with this game I had problem. Please send a private message to continue this, it's more likely I'll see it.

Talked with Microsoft support, problem not solved, maybe with the developers will help

Also some 360 games are region free but you take a risk. By buying out of region you can check for regions free disks at playasia.com

But certain games like witcher halo and gears of war are region specific

 

Some games are considered to be region free. So, although they could be considered NTSC discs they are still region free games. But this does not pertain to all games and, as I mentioned before, could very well be the reason you are experiencing this issue.

There is no fix for a region error.

 

The coding of a console is hard coded meaning it cannot be changed

And it's the publishers that apply the locks

You will have to buy a local console
